Activist Greta Thunberg is best known for her grim declarations about the red alert situation the planet is in thanks to human-caused climate change. But on Saturday, the 18 year-old Swedish teen switched things up in Stockholm during the youth-led concert for climate action, Climate Live, when she pulled off a classic Rickroll on the crowd.

Joined by another teen, Thunberg smiled and laughed as the crowd roared while the pair danced and sang along to the legendary 1987 Rick Astley pop gem that has become a universal internet troll prank. “We are no strangers to love,” Thunberg says at the beginning of the video, followed by a voice off-camera yelling, “You know the rules and so do I” before the Roll properly kicks off. Astley loved it, dubbing the performance “fantastic” in a tweet and reposting the clip, writing “thank you so much” in Swedish.

The event at Stockholm’s Kungsträdgården featured sets from First Aid Kit, Victor Leksell, Loreen, Royal Republic and many more, as well as activists including Black Lives Matter Sweden’s Aysha Jones. The show unfolded just weeks before the Oct. 31 kick-of of the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland.

Last month, Thunberg once again laid into world leaders who she says are not doing nearly enough to combat climate change at a youth climate summit in Milan, lashing politicians for spending the past 30 years bloviating and offering up a lot of “blah, blah, blah.”

“This is not about some expensive, politically correct dream at the bunny hugging or blah, blah, blah,” Grunberg said in her signature no-BS, punk rock fashion that would make Iggy Pop proud. “Build back better, blah, blah, blah. Green economy, blah, blah, blah.”
